Introduction : Safety has become an issue in the world, as well as for hospital institutions. Five important issues related to safety in the hospital are patient safety, health personnel safety, building safety and equipment in the hospital, green productivity, and hospital business safety. However, it must be admitted that hospital institution activities can run when there are patients. Therefore patient safety is the main priority to be implemented. The National Reporting & Learning System (NRLS) in the United Kingdom issued a Patient Safety Incident Report (IKP) from April 2016 to March 2017 of 307,975. Adverse event (KTD) of 1,500 reports and 194 of them caused death. Implementation of patient safety in the hospital cannot be separated from the role of nurses as the most health personnel in the hospital and its existence during the 24 hours of serving patients. In the implementation of patient safety, nurses are influenced by several factors, one of which is the level of nurse compliance in providing care services nursing. The purpose of this review literature is to identify the results of research on the implementation of patient safety by nurses in hospitals. This literature review is the result of a study in journals on patient safety and nurse compliance in the implementation of patient safety at the hospital. Methods : The method used in this paper is the literature review via electronic database google scholar and PubMed using the keywords "patient safety," "adherence," and "implementation patient safety by a nurse," in the period 2007-2017. The inclusion criteria in this review are articles in the form of research or journals written in English and Indonesian, both qualitative and quantitative research. Obtained 14 articles that meet the criteria. It was found that the level of nurse compliance in the implementation of patient safety varies for the existing hospital in Indonesia ranging from 56.1% to 95%, with an average of 70.3%. Whereas for the European Countries the fewest hospitals for poor patient safety exists in Switzerland at 4%, and the hospital with the greatest number of poor patient implementation implementations is the Polish state at 18%. For compliance levels correctly identify patients ranging from 64.5% to 75.8%, and Hand hygiene compliance rates range at 35%. Results : The results of this literature review can be a reference for hospitals to conduct evaluation and innovation in the implementation of patient safety to improve service quality, safe and satisfactory, while for further researchers can be used as a baseline to conduct further research more comprehensive related to the implementation of Patient safety.
