Background: It is important for the fetus to remain within the uterus for at least 37 weeks due to the maturation of organ function and fetal weight, including physical development and neurological structure. Independent nursing interventions developmental care: nesting is needed in the care of premature babies. Objective: The purpose of this research is to know the effect of developmental care implementation: nesting on sleep duration and physiological function parameters of premature babies. Methods: The research method used pre-experiment, with pre and post-test without control research design. The sample of research with purposive sampling technique counted 15 babies. The instrument used is an observation sheet. Normality Test Results obtained abnormal data distribution. Results: Test analysis McNemar showed the results p-value 0.002 <α (0.05), so Ha accepted which means there is influence of sleep duration to the implementation of developmental care: nesting, but on physiological parameters, showed p-value at heart rate 0.500> α (0.05) ), p-value at respiration frequency 1.000> α (0.05), p-value at oxygen saturation 0.219> α (0.05) so that Ha is rejected which means there is no effect of physiological parameters on the implementation of nesting. Conclusion: Can be concluded nesting influence on sleep duration premature babies, but not on physiological parameters. Advice on the implementation of developmental care in premature infants and to examine other developmental care interventions on sleep duration and physiological parameters.
